I'm back and going through all of the things on my desktop. Here is a video of me doing a question and answer after Searching for Angela Shelton at ODU in Virgina Beach.

Virginia Beach was so beautiful. I got to visit and meet some amazing people, I heard more stories, I saw more transformation, and a little birdie told me that my book is part of the curiculum too. That's pretty amazing. I had no idea when I began this journey. I thought it was going to be funny.

Breaking the Cycle

The most important book any survivor could ever read (it is also a work book) is Sandy Riggin´s book, Breaking the Cycle. Sandy´s web page is www.sandyriggin.com

Reading Sandy´s book helped me come to terms with the fact that I am really just a text book example of someone who was abused physically, emotionally and sexually as a child. And, furthermore, that there is nothing wrong with me, I am not crazy, stupid nor have I lost my mind. What a huge relief!! Sandy also puts forward some very important but simple exercises in her book that build on each other, slowly take you through what we need to go through to heal. I highly recommend it. You can use it on your own or take it to your therapist and ask them to help you work with it.

Anne Lee from Darkness to Light. I just got trained to teach the Stewards of Children training too. It is a really great program and a great way to teach the adults in our society on how to recognize and react to child sexual abuse.

Teaching good parenting is an entirely different ball game. This training is for adults who are around children, have children, and those who care about keeping them safe.

And Anne just emailed me and Darkness to Light will be contributing to this blog too! Yippee.

Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Viseral, and Semato Emotional Release

I went to see Sam MacArthur who practices Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Viseral, and Semato Emotional Release. She is in Weaverville, NC 828-775-2327. For those near to her, I highly recommend her. It was an amazing experience. After an hour treatment I walked away feeling incredibly centered and awake. She also picked up on some pains in my body that I did not tell her about before I arrived. That was pretty wild. I highly recommend going to Sam if you can or finding another healer near you.
